5 years<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"jkey-title\">Location<\/span> <span class=\"jkey-info\">Lagos<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"jkey-title\">Job Field<\/span> <span class=\"jkey-info\">Finance \/ Accounting \/ Audit&amp;nbsp<\/span>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h1>\n<p>                \t\tFinancial Accountant at United Nigeria Airlines<br \/>\n            \t\t<\/h1>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mag-b \" id=\"job1267171\">\n<p>            Financial Accountant <\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"job-details\">\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, performing reconciliations, ensuring\u00a0compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the month-end and year end closing processes.<\/li>\n<li>The role ensures the integrity of financial information and assists management in making informed business decisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nFinancial Reporting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting record<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and clear suspense accounts promptly.<\/li>\n<li>Support month-end and year-end closing activities.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely completion of financial close activities.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain proper documentation for all accounting transactions.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the fixed asset register.<\/li>\n<li>Compute depreciation and ensure proper capitalization of assets.<\/li>\n<li>Support physical verification exercises and asset reconciliation.<\/li>\n<li>Review inventory accounting and reconciliations where applicable<\/li>\n<li>Provide schedules and supporting documents for external and internal audits.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and statutory requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Support regulatory and tax compliance activities.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the finance team to ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliance with IRFS and company\u2019s policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Timeliness of month-end close.<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy of financial reports.<\/li>\n<li>Number of unreconciled balance sheet items.<\/li>\n<li>Audit findings and resolution rate.<\/li>\n<li>Timeliness of statutory and management reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Compliance with accounting policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy of journal entries and account reconciliations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or ICAN is a must, with 3 yrs post qualification experience<\/li>\n<li>3\u20135 years of accounting experience, preferably within the aviation industry.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.<\/li>\n<li>Experience using ERP systems such as Odoo, SAP, Sage, or similar accounting software.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills and Competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>High level of integrity and confidentiality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"application-method\" style=\"margin-top:10px;
