Nigerian Air Force (NAF) recruitment into the Basic Military Training Course 46 / 2025


The Nigerian Air Force is the air branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces. It is one of the largest in Africa, consisting of about 15,000 personnel and aircraft including 8 Chinese Chengdu F-7s, 13 Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jets, Helicopter gunships, armed attack drones and military transport aircraft.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS OF YEAR 2025 NIGERIAN AIR FORCE TRADES AND NON-TRADES MEN/WOMEN RECRUITMENT EXERCISE

Online Registration starts on 14 October 2025 and closes on 25 November 2025.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS

1. Nationality.    Applicants must be Nigerian citizens.

2. Age.   Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years for

non-tradesmen/women, while for tradesmen/women applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 27 years at the time of application.

3. Marital Status.   Applicants must be single and have no children.

4. Height.    Applicants must not be less than 1.66m tall for males and not less than 1.63m tall for females.

5. Medical Fitness. Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit and must meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards.

6. Local Government Area Attestation Form.  Applicants’ Local Government Area Attestation Form must be signed only by one of the following:

a. Military officer from the same State as the applicant and not below the rank of Wing Commander in the Nigerian Air Force or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy.

b. Police officer of the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police and above.

c. Substantive Local Government Chairman/Secretary.

d. Magistrates from applicants’ state of origin.

The Local Government Area Attestation Form must be accompanied by the passport photograph and photocopy of the signees’ Drivers Licence or National ID Card or International Passport.

7. Presentation of Original Credentials. Successful applicants are required to present their original credentials for scrutiny during Selection Interview. The credentials include the following:

a. Two recent passport size photographs.

b. Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age.

c. Original and photocopy of educational/trade certificates.

d. Original and photocopy of Indigeneship Certificate from applicant’s Local Government/State of Origin.

e. Original and photocopy of Attestation to Good Character signed by officer of appropriate rank as specified in paragraph 6.

8.       Applicants must be free of any previous convictions on criminal grounds by a court of law.

9. Any applicant suspected to have impersonated or submitted false document(s) shall be disqualified from the Selection Exercise. Also, any false declaration detected later may lead to withdrawal from training. Such applicants will be handed over to the Nigeria Police for prosecution. The Nigerian Air Force will not entertain any enquiries in respect of applicants whose applications have been rejected. Interested applicants are to note that the online registration is FREE OF CHARGE.  Applicants are required to fill in valid email addresses and telephone numbers in the appropriate spaces provided in the Application Form.

10. Application Form. On completion of the application forms, applicants must print out the underlisted documents:

 a. Acknowledgment Form.

 b. Parent/Guardians Consent Form.

 c. Local Government Area Attestation Form.

11. Zonal General Aptitude Test.  Zonal General Aptitude Test for successful applicants will hold on a date to be conveyed on this Portal.

12. Invitation for Interview.  Only successful applicants will be invited for Selection Interview through this Portal. In addition, email and phone numbers could be used as deemed necessary.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THOSE APPLYING AS NON-TRADESMEN AND WOMEN

13. Non-Tradesmen/women. Interested applicants applying for Non-Tradesmen/women must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB/NBAIS. In addition, applicants are required to possess their secondary school’s testimonials.

 

ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THOSE APPLYING AS TRADESMEN AND WOMEN

14. Tradesmen/women.

 a.  Applicants with ND/NCE must possess at least lower credit from accredited institutions and must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more   than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB/NBAIS. 

 b. Applicants applying as drivers and other trades that require Trade test must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings in   WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB/NBAIS in addition to their Trade Test Certificate and a valid driving licence for drivers.

 c. Applicants applying as sportsmen/women are to present evidence of their professional experience, which should include certificates and medals.

Note: Applicants with HND or First Degrees/Post-Graduate Certificates and University Diploma certificates will not be considered for recruitment as airmen/airwomen into the Nigerian Air Force and should not apply. Applicants with medical qualifications must possess evidence of registration with relevant professional bodies and current valid practicing licence(s).

15. Requirements for Tradesmen/women. Applicants applying as Tradesmen/women are advised to carefully read the requirements below before filling the Forms:

 a. Aircraft Engineering. Must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

(1) Mechanical Engineering Technology

(2) Aerospace Engineering

(3) Aeronautical Engineering

(4) Mechatronics Engineering

(5) Electrical Electronics Engineering

(6) Industrial Maintenance Engineering Technology

(7) Metallurgical and Material Engineering Technology

(8) Agricultural Engineering Technology

(9) Welding and Fabrication Technology

(10) Electrical Engineering Technology

(11) Automobile Technology

(12) SSCE with science or technical background

b. Armament Technology. Must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

(1)  Electrical Engineering

(2)  Mechanical Engineering

(3)  Chemical Engineering

(4) Computer Engineering

(5) Automobile Engineering/Driver

(6) SSCE with science or technical background

c. Air Traffic Services.

(1) Meteorology. SSCE with Science background (must have credit in Physics and Mathematics).

(2) Air Traffic Controller Assistant. SSCE with Science background.

(3) Base Operator.  SSCE with Science background.

(4) Fire Fighter. SSCE with valid driving license.

d. Professions Allied to Medicine. Applicants must have specialists’ qualifications as follows:

(1) Hygiene Technician (Environmental & Community Health Technician). Diploma in Environmental Health Technician or Community Health extension worker from any recognised training institution in Nigerian, registered with Environmental Health Council of Nigeria or Community Health Practioners Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2025.

(2) Medical Records Technician (Health Info Mgt Technician).   Professional Diploma in Health Info Mgt from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Health Record Officers Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing

License 2025.

(3) Biomedical Technician.  ND Biomedical Tech from any recognised training institution in Nigerian.

(4) Veterinary Assistant. ND Animal Science and Production from any recognised training institution in Nigeria.

(5) Physiotherapy Technician.   Professional Diploma Certificate in Physiotherapy Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2025.

(6) Pharmacy Technician.   ND Pharmacy Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2025

(7) Dental Therapy.   ND Dental Therapy from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing    License 2025.

(8) Dental Technology. ND Dental Technology from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Dental Technologists Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2025.

(9) Dental Health/Surgery Technician. ND Dental Health Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2025.

(10) Dietetics/Nutrition Technician.  ND Nutrition/Dietetics from any recognised training institution in Nigeria.

 (11) Medical Lab Technician.   Professional Diploma Certificate in Med Lab Tech from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Medical Laboratory Science Council and possesses Annual Practicing License 2025.

(12)  X-Ray Technician.  Professional Diploma Certificate in X-Ray Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2025.

(13) Optician Technician. ND Optician Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Optometrists & Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2025.

e. Nurses.   Must possess National/Professional Diploma Certificate in Nursing from any recognized training institution in Nigeria, registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and possess Annual Practicing License 2025.

f. Communication and Information and Space Technology. Must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria or SSCE in science and other related fields. The ND Certificates must be from any of the following disciplines:

(1) Electrical Electronics Engineering

(2) Telecommunications Engineering

(3) Mechatronics Engineering

(4) Computer Science

(5) Computer Engineering

(6) Cyber Security

(7) Software Engineering

(8) Computer Networking/Hardware

(9) Satellite Communication/Ground Station

g. Administration Personnel. Must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

h. Logistics. Must have ND/NCE/OND and Trade Test (tailoring) in any of the following qualifications from any recognised training institution in Nigeria:

(1) Purchasing and Supply

(8) Tailoring  

i. Air Provost. Must have SSCE or ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

m. Public Relations. Must have any of the following qualifications from any recognised training institution in Nigeria:

(1) ND Journalism

(2) Trade Test Certificate in Videography

(3) Trade Test Certificate in Photography

(4) Trade Test Certificate in Printing

n. Legal Clerks.  Diploma in Law.

o. Assistant Imam.   Must have NBAIS or NCE/Diploma Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

(1) Arabic and Islamic Studies

(2) Arabic language & Literature

(3) Sharia Law

p. Chaplain Assistant (Catholic).   Must have Diploma/Certificates in any aspect of Theology or Catechesis from any recognised training Catholic institution in Nigeria.

q. Chaplain Assistant (Protestant).   Must have Diploma/Certificates in Theology/Divinity from any recognised training institution in Nigeria and a Letter of recommendation from Denomination.

r. Driver/Mechanic.    Trade Test certificate Grades I, II, III and a valid current driver’s license and practical experience.

s. Catering. Must have any of the following qualifications from any recognized training institution in Nigeria.

(1)  ND Hospitality Management

(2) ND Event Management

(3) ND Food & Nutrition

(4) SSCE with credit in Home Economics or Food and Nutrition

t. Music.   Must have ND/NCE/Diploma in the disciplines below. Playing experience in any recognised Band is an added advantage.

(1)  Trumpet Studies

(2) Saxophone

(3) Percussion

(4) Euphonium/Tuba

(5) Musical Instrument Technology

u. Sports.    Must have SSCE and be good in any of the following sports.  

(1) Fitness Gym/Instructor

(2) Athletics

Interested persons must present evidence of professional experience which should include certificate of participation and medal(s) in national and international sporting competitions. In addition, a recommendation letter from the athlete’s State Sport Council and membership of National Sporting Association is an added advantage.
