Job Title: Offshore Construction Superintendent

Location: Rivers

Job Description

  • The Offshore Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing offshore construction operations to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. He wouldact as the primary on-site management authority, liaising between project management, contractors, and clients.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight
  • Supervise offshore construction activities including installation of structures, pipelines, subsea equipment, and topside modules.
  • Enforce strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations for offshore operations.
  • Ensure all operations comply with project specifications, engineering drawings, and technical standards.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage offshore teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and technical personnel.
  • Monitor workforce performance, provide guidance, and resolve conflicts on-site.
  • Provide regular progress reports, highlight issues, and propose corrective actions.
  • Coordinate logistics, materials, and equipment for offshore mobilization.
  • Coordination and Communication
  • Liaise between onshore project management, clients, and offshore personnel.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure construction quality meets project and client requirements.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Track construction progress against schedule, anticipate delays, and implement solutions.
  • Perform inspections, monitor compliance with technical specifications, and manage documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Offshore Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 8–15 years of offshore construction experience, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Certifications: Offshore survival training (BOSIET/FOET), H2S Safety, and other relevant offshore certifications.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in harsh offshore environments and under pressure.
  • Excellent knowledge of offshore construction procedures and HSE standards.
