Job Title: Petrochemical Engineer (Entry-level – Nigerian Nationals)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking passionate and motivated Chemical or Petrochemical Engineers to join our Operations & Maintenance team at the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC), one of Nigeria’s most prestigious refining operations.
  • In this role, you will play a key part in supporting critical process units, ensuring the safe and efficient conversion of hydrocarbons into premium products such as PMS, AGO, LPG, and DPK.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals, whether you’re a recent NYSC graduate or have up to four years of field experience; to develop and grow within a world-class refinery environment.

Job Specification

  • Monitoring unit performance, troubleshoot issues and recommend process optimizations.
  • Contribute to reports, process documentation and daily logs.
  • Ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory specifications
  • Follow strict HSE protocols and safety management systems.
  • Collect and analyze operational data from CDU, FCCU, Merox, CRU, LPG and related units.
  • Assist with the startup, shutdown, and commissioning support activities.

Person Specification

  • B.Sc Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or Industrial Chemistry
  • Familiarity with Aspen HYSYS or other process simulation tools.
  • Understanding of refining (KPIs, Energy balances, and process control
  • Pervious refinery trainee or graduates program participation.
  • Experience of 0-4 years in a refinery or petrochemical plant
  • Applicant must be a Nigerian (in line with Nigeria content Development Goals)
