An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Portfolio Manager.Portfolio Management and Operations
- Responsible for the performance of assigned portfolios to ensure clients enjoy superior risk-adjusted performance.
- Help man the fixed income trading desk
- Perform due diligence and evaluation of different investment proposals submitted to our client.
- Assisting Client Advisors with profiling of clients and providing recommendations for asset allocation based on clients’ goals, objectives, time horizon and risk tolerance.
- Review client performance on a daily basis and recommend any changes that need to be made to the client’s account. Communicate to clients through Account Advisors performance on a quarterly basis.
- Create and present reports, Daily, Weekly Monthly, and quarterly to executive management and other business units to facilitate decision-making.
- Maintain current knowledge of capital market outlook and direction. Providing regular talking points to Client Advisors based on our firm’s thinking.
- Working closely with the Research Unit to develop in-depth market forecast and direction including stock recommendations.
- Develop investment portfolios according to asset allocation and sector analysis guidelines. Analyzes investment markets, reviews investment strategy, advisory, and research reports to develop in portfolios for accounts under management.
Prepare and make presentations to high net-worth and institutional clients
- Develop an Investment Policy Statement that allows each client the potential of meeting their long-term investment goals
- Maintains relationships with clients to accurately reflect changes in their policy statement that flow through to the client’s portfolio.
- Meets with various high net worth clients to review and/or update changes to the investment policy statement, as well as discuss market fundamentals and review portfolio performance. Coordinates with Client Service Officers to define and clarifyaccount objectives.
- Evaluates current holdings for desirability relative to accounting objectives, potential gains or losses, and diversification
- Responsible for analysis of investment in various assets classes and make appropriate recommendations to Management. Review the financial markets (Equities market, Money market and Foreign Exchange market) on a daily basis with a view to identifying buy and sell opportunities for the company and its clients.
- Provide in-depth and forward-looking analysis to increase portfolio performance. Use basic and fundamental techniques to gain valuable insight and analysis of investment opportunities.
- Develop complex financial models and valuation methodologies for public and private equities as well as projects. This is in addition to appraising various fixed income offerings – Treasury bills, corporate, municipal, and sovereign bonds offerings.
- Perform data mining, database creation, and management for core research and portfolio management, to aid decision making as well as distribution to key partners.
- Generate variance reports and rebalance the portfolio if necessary.
- Demonstrate a combination of people and analytical skills that facilitates the assignment of portfolios. Assist with new product development.
- Ensure adequate customer feedback is received, and client requests are adhered to
- Prepare portfolio management reports and disseminate them to clients/investors
Requirements
- A First degree in any Finance or related discipline, e.g. Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, etc.
- A relevant postgraduate degree, MBA or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, Portfolio Management is desirable
- At least 4-8 years’ experience in asset management, investment analysis, advisory, research, and/or product development with a financial services company.
