Job description: Job Description:Our client is a metal recycling and commodity trading company in Nigeria.Role SummaryThe Procurement Officer will be responsible for preparing vendor sourcing, drafting requests for proposals, managing the tender process, drafting contracts for goods and services, managing the contract award process, keeping track of compliance, processing invoices, and monitoring supplier costs on a regular basis.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare tender documents (RFPs and RFQs), oversee the entire tendering process from requisition to contract award, and draft tender evaluation reports. Participate in evaluations, negotiations, and draft contracts with clear milestones and terms.
- Ensure the consistency of rates for products and services with contract terms, monitor supplier costs, coordinate supplier balances and payments with the finance team, and draft formal communication to address issues during contract execution.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, collaborate with end users to clarify requirements for goods and services, evaluate the quality and cost of proposed services, and process requisitions into Purchase Orders.
- Recommend and implement methods for monitoring KPIs, supervise vendor performance reviews, participate in progress review meetings, and provide feedback to vendors with improvement recommendations.
- Assist the Procurement Manager with any additional procurement or contract-related duties as required.
Requirements
- HND/BSc in a relevant field, with formal training in purchasing or related functions. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Procurement Officer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement policies, processes, and procedures, including sourcing, tendering, and contracting. Proficient in procurement budget preparation, cost monitoring, and the implementation of policies and SOPs.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Odoo, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiating skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong team player with good supervisory and people management skills.
