Position Overview
- We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of food and supplies.
- This role will ensure cost-effective, ethical, and timely procurement to support our mission of feeding the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the food bank’s goals.
- Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and distribution teams.
- Ensure procurement processes comply with organizational policies and donor requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare regular reports.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and donors for food and non-food items.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and compliance with agreements.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, ethical sourcing, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics (nonprofit or food industry experience preferred).
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
