Job Title: Production Engineer

Overall Purpose of the Job

  • Optimize production using their technical expertise in well, reservoir, and facility performance.
  • They will enhance data quality, planned production, and coordinate across functions to maximize asset value.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead daily integrated surveillance of production and injection systems.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of production data and metering systems.
  • Provide strategic input to shut down planning and production forecasts.
  • Manage idle and developable volume inventory; maintain constraint maps.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical decision-making.
  • Drive short and mid-term production planning and execution.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize optimization and cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Coordinate well interventions, artificial lift optimization, and surface facility constraints.

Requirements

Education:

  • B.ENG in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering

Skills:

  • The candidate will be fully integrated into the production teams, working closely with both operational and technical staff to achieve exceptional production results.

The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division (2.1) in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical engineering or related disciplines.
  • Strong economic evaluation and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in production software (e.g., OFM, IPM, Spotfire) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
  • 10+ years in production engineering and optimization roles, process engineering or facilities engineering roles.
  • Expertise in artificial lift, well testing, data analytics, and field development.
