Job Description
- We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Officer to join our team in Lagos.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our production facility, ensuring that all products are manufactured efficiently, on time, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- A solid background in FMCG manufacturing and prior experience with quality audits such as BRC and Organic Certification is essential.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all daily production activities to ensure products are manufactured in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Implement and monitor compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure all equipment and machinery are maintained and operate safely.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance and Maintenance teams to uphold product standards.
- Monitor inventory levels for raw materials and packaging to avoid production disruptions.
- Train and guide production staff to follow best practices in hygiene, safety, and process efficiency.
- Prepare for, participate in, and ensure compliance with BRC (British Retail Consortium) and Organic Audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate production records, process reports, and compliance documentation.
- Identify production bottlenecks and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Requirements
- Educational Qualification: B.Sc./HND in Food Science, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Good leadership and team coordination skills.
- Experience: Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with external audits such as BRC and Organic Certification is mandatory.
