- The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently, safely, and within quality standards.
- They act as the link between management and production staff, coordinating workflows, troubleshooting issues, and implementing process improvements to optimize productivity.
Responsibilities
Production Management:
- Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to meet customer demand and deadlines.
- Allocate tasks and assign shifts to operators and technicians.
- Monitor workflow and ensure smooth, efficient production processes.
- Ensure machines, tools, and raw materials are available for uninterrupted operations.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure products meet company and regulatory quality standards.
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to address defects and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain records of production quality checks and audits.
Staff Supervision and Training:
- Supervise production teams, providing guidance and motivation to meet performance standards.
- Conduct training sessions on safety, quality, and process improvements.
- Monitor employee performance and address performance issues.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety drills and inspections.
- Investigate and report accidents or near-miss incidents promptly.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Maintain accurate records of production volume, downtime, and workforce utilization.
- Report equipment breakdowns and coordinate maintenance needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, or related field.
- 2 – 5 years of experience in manufacturing or production supervision (FMCG preferred).
- Strong understanding of production workflows, machinery, and quality standards.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of production processes, machinery, and quality systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
