Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control for our construction projects.
- The ideal candidate will ensure value for money while maintaining quality, compliance, and timely project delivery.
- You will provide expert cost planning, procurement advice, and contract administration support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to assess project viability.
- Evaluate tender documents and contracts, and participate in supplier/subcontractor negotiations.
- Collaborate with project teams to optimize delivery and minimize financial risk.
- Track and manage design or scope changes, ensuring accurate cost adjustments.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, vendors, and site professionals.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Monitor project financial performance and ensure adherence to approved budgets and timelines.
- Implement cost control, value engineering, and procurement strategies to enhance project efficiency.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, variations, and final accounts for management review.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy and reliability of cost estimates and budget forecasts.
- Effectiveness of cost control and value engineering initiatives.
- Timely completion and approval of final accounts.
- Timeliness and quality of cost reports and valuations.
- Compliance with project cost limits and contractual obligations.
Qualifications & Experience
- OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in cost estimation, budgeting, or cost control within the construction industry.
- Membership or student membership of NIQS or another recognized professional body is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of construction cost management and contract administration.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and reporting abilities.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and professional integrity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, QS CAD).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and numerical skills.
Working Relationships:
- Internal: Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, Accounts, and Management Teams.
- External: Clients, Consultants, Vendors, Contractors, and Regulatory Bodies.
