Job Responsibilities
- Keep up with local and global trends and events
- Collect, verify and analyze thoroughly newsworthy information
- Cooperate with reporters, chief editor, and producers
- Stay up-to-date with the latest current News around the world/Nigeria using credible research source, contacts, schedule and interviews
- Researching background material
- Writing and rehearsing script for presenting
- Finalize news content and keep up with deadlines as timeliness is extremely.
- Abide by journalism’s ethics and codes
- Assemble findings into a stable story
- Write and deliver news stories with the reader’s perspective in mind
- Publish news stories
- Receive assignments or investigate news leads/tips
- Contact, interview and research sources
- Maintain notes and audio recordings
- And any other duties assigned to you in course of your employment with us.
Requirements
- B.Sc Degree in Journalism or Mass Communications
- Portfolio of published articles or newscasts
- Ability to gather, write and edit news
- Not more than 25 years
- Broad knowledge of headlines.
- Minimum of 2 years working experience as a reporter
- Computer proficiency (MS Office, digital editing, web search, databases)
- Excellent communication, lobbying, and active listening skills
- Integrity and morality
