- The Sales & Marketing Officer will be responsible for driving product awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth for Crescent Rice Mill across designated territories. The ideal candidate must be experienced in FMCG or agricultural sales, understand regional consumer behavior, and possess strong skills in field sales, market activation, and strategic marketing planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and manage new sales opportunities across retail, wholesale, institutional, and distributor channels.
- Develop tailored sales strategies for introducing Crescent Rice products into new and competitive markets, especially in theSouth Nigeria.
- Build and maintain relationships with retailers, bulk buyers, supermarkets, and distribution partners.
- Track and report on weekly sales performance, regional challenges, customer feedback, and competitor insights.
- Provide feedback to the production and management teams regarding market demands and packaging or quality expectations.
- Promote the full product line; Savvy Rice and its products;Head Rice, Broken Rice, Reject Rice, Khus-Khus, and Bran to different market segments.
- Conduct market surveys to assess product reception, pricing, packaging preferences, and competitor activity.
- Execute trade marketing and promotional campaigns in markets, open stalls, and retail stores using marketing materials
- Ensure proper branding and visibility of Crescent Rice products across retail points.
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Strategies to Increase Market Demand in the South West:
- Market Segmentation: Identify specific consumer groups (e.g., urban households, open market retailers, food vendors) and align Crescent Rice products with their needs.
- Product Education: Use direct sampling, food demonstrations, and customer engagement to showcase the quality and taste of Crescent Head Rice.
- Competitive Pricing Strategy: Offer value-driven pricing while emphasizing superior grain quality, aroma, and local sourcing.
- Distributor Development: Recruit and support reliable distributors with structured incentives to drive volume and availability.
- Retail Push: Secure placement in major open markets and stores
- Local Influencer Promotions: Collaborate with food influencers and nutritionists to promote the brand’s health and local content benefits.
Requirements
- Minimum of B.Sc / HND qualification in Marketing, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- At least 4 – 5 years’ proven experience in sales and marketing, preferably in agro-products or FMCG.
- Good knowledge of the South West market terrain and experience working with distributors and open markets.
- Strong negotiation, field sales, and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver results.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, sales reporting tools, and basic CRM use.
- Must be willing to travel frequently across states and work flexible hours.
Salary
