- The Sales Officer is responsible for driving sales, managing customer relationships, and ensuring the effective distribution and visibility of the company’s products within the assigned territory.
- The role focuses on achieving sales targets, executing trade activities, and building strong partnerships with distributors, retailers, and other trade partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for the assigned territory.
- Ensure effective product distribution across assigned outlets and markets.
- Maintain adequate stock levels with distributors and monitor timely order placements.
- Implement route-to-market (RTM) strategies to maximize coverage and availability.
- Execute trade marketing and promotional activities in line with company guidelines.
- Ensure product visibility, availability, and pricing compliance at retail points.
- Monitor competitor activities and provide timely feedback to management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
- Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Provide market intelligence and insights from customer interactions.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Track and monitor key sales performance indicators.
- Recommend actions to improve territory performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2 – 4 years of FMCG sales experience, preferably in a field sales / territory role.
- Strong understanding of trade, distribution, and retail operations.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of ERP or sales tracking tools is an added advantage.
- and sales reporting tools (ERP/SAP is an added advantage).
