Job Title: Scheduler / Planner
Location: Uyo, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Overview
- The Scheduler / Project Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling the integrated project schedule for the Ibom International Hospital.
- The role ensures that design, construction, equipping, and commissioning activities are sequenced and tracked effectively.
- The planner will align project progress with financial milestones (IPC triggers), generate executive dashboards, and provide independent schedule analysis to support decision-making for both TIMS management and government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule Development & Control:
- Develop and maintain a cost- and resource-loaded baseline schedule using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Build detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) covering civil, structural, MEP, finishing, equipping, and commissioning.
- Prepare look-ahead schedules (2-week, 1-month, 3-month).
- Conduct Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis and update schedules with recovery actions where delays occur.
Risk Management:
- Maintain a risk register of schedule bottlenecks (e.g., material delays, OEM deliveries, commissioning challenges).
- Propose early warnings and mitigation measures to avoid project slippage.
Liaison & Training:
- Liaise with external consultants and contractors to consolidate schedules.
- Support training and knowledge transfer to TIMS’ junior planning staff.
- Act as the interface with Government monitoring teams, preparing simplified milestone-driven progress reports.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track planned vs. actual progress across all project components.
- Generate S-curves, dashboards, milestone trackers, and variance reports.
- Provide weekly technical updates for TIMS management and monthly executive summaries tailored for Government stakeholders.
- Certify milestone achievement against Interim Payment Certificates (IPC) for financial control.
Cost & Resource Integration:
- Work with Finance and Treasury teams to align cash flow forecasts with the project schedule.
- Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to integrate cost and schedule performance (Planned Value vs Earned Value vs Actual Cost).
- Prepare manpower histograms and equipment deployment charts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
- 8 – 12 years proven experience as a project planner/scheduler on large-scale healthcare, infrastructure, or oil & gas projects.
- Familiarity with hospital/healthcare project commissioning is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, able to present technical progress clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost control integration.
