Job Description

  • This role helps ensure the sustained continuity of technical mastery and line leadership in manufacturing, by leading a key line of the business (technical, system or organizational) to deliver results defined by the compelling business need of the site. 
  • You ensure that key business results are achieved and for developing others to ensure the sustained continuity of technical mastery on the manufacturing line. 
  • Using a systematic approach, you use strategic thinking skills to ensure results are sustained over the long term.

How you will contribute:

  • In your likely first managerial role, you will ensure that Mondelēz International’s safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets are achieved for the lines for which you are responsible by breaking down section targets into line and unit targets and ensuring that employees understand their individual performance goals related to the overall targets. 
  • In this role, you will also develop budgets and be responsible for costs control management, governance and compliance, loss elimination and workforce planning, including recruitment, retention, development, succession planning, and the identification of high potential team members. Without you, we would not be able to deliver high-quality snacks to our customers.

  • This role involves effective and efficient management of process, methods & material resources to continuously deliver products of consistently high quality and at the right throughput at competitive costs that will guarantee profitability for the business. 
  • All these activities must be carried out in a safe manner and clean environment within the plant. This is a leadership role as people manager.

Responsibilities

What you need to know about this position:

  • Achieve consistent product quality and ensure food safety at all times
  • Achieve vertical startup for new equipment, installation and/or lines.
  • Achieve the  targets on CBN for the plants in the section
  • Ensure full compliance to all process parameters and documentation of all activities and parameters on all lines in the section.
  • Ensure machines are ran based on SOPs and center line.
  • Report and investigate near misses, incident & accidents in the factory 
  • Conduct Risk Assessment, Quick Risk Prediction and ensure LOTO compliance
  • Effective DMS meetings and Visible SQCDSM boards
  • Ensure  M&R Lead draw up PPM programme and ensure implementation for both making and packing end of the line to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Drive the people agenda of the plant
  • Identify improvement opportunities of the lines in the section and ensure implementation.
  • Liaise effectively with support services providers to ensure prompt and quality service delivery to the line.
  • Reduction in scrap / rework level -Drive down waste on  the lines & champion waste reduction efforts and ensure rework re-use
  • Achieve near zero defects on the production lines in the section
  • Ensure plant & equipment availability, reliability and performance round the clock
  • Deliver plants weekly production plan & achieve OEE/GE on both Making and Packing section of the line.
  • Strict adherence to GMP and Food safety Requirements.
  • Draw up cleaning plan for the equipment and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure machines are run with guards and safety devices in place.
  • Carry out daily plants walk through and restore and maintain acceptable standards.
  • Drive full implementation of AM steps 1-7 on the line. 

Personal Activities

  • Commitment to employees’ development by coaching and mentoring subordinates
  • Commitment to IL6S deployment in Candy.
  • To regularly liaise with other section manager, engineering manager, and Manufacturing director.
  • Partake in new project planning and implementation for the section
  • Enforcing good housekeeping, high sense of discipline and professionalism, and correct use of tools and equipment.

Education / Certifications

  • Must possess at least an HND or BSc in Engineering or Sciences from a reputable institution.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a Process Plant with at least 2 years as people manager.

Job specific requirements:

  • Reduction of machine, RM and PM wastes to near-zero levels.
