Job Title: Senior Buyer / Technical Officer
Location: Rivers
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure goods and services in accordance with company policies and project specifications.
- Prepare RFQs, evaluate bids, and negotiate terms with suppliers.
- Generate and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and contracts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved vendors and contractors.
- Conduct regular market analysis and identify alternative sources for strategic items.
- Support vendor pre-qualification and periodic performance reviews.
- Technical aptitude with an understanding of engineering materials and equipment.
- Track and report procurement status, cost savings, and delivery performance.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records in ERP systems.
- Review and interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and BOQs.
- Ensure purchased items meet required technical standards and project specifications.
- Liaise with engineering, QA/QC, and project teams to validate material compliance.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years experience in technical procurement or buying roles, preferably in Oil & Gas, Construction, or EPC sectors.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with international standards and technical specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supply chain best practices.
- Proficient in ERP systems.
