In 2010, we started out as Nigeria’s premier innovation center dedicated to accelerating the application of social capital and technology for economic prosperity in Nigeria. We have since grown our physical presence to five cities (Lagos, Abuja, Kigali, Nairobi and Windhoek) across Africa and we work closely with stakeholders – including entrepreneurs, civil society organizations, government, and private sector – to identify and nurture novel solutions to social challenges in Africa.In 2017, Co-Creation HUB launched Growth Capital in partnership with Omidyar Network, Bank of Industry, and Venture Garden Group to provide early-stage funding for startups driving social change. In 2020, we launched CcHUB Syndicate, an investment vehicle designed to improve capital access for startups and bridge the funding gap in Africa’s innovation ecosystem. These expansions have been intentional in contributing to our vision to be Africa’s leading pan-African creative and innovation ecosystem enabler.Since its establishment, CcHUB has supported the development and launch of more than 10,000 innovative technology companies solving social challenges across Africa in areas including budget transparency, agtech, education, fintech, healthcare delivery, creative economy and sustainability.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Community Manager to lead and nurture our vibrant community in Lagos, serving as a key driver of our pan-African vision. You will be a strategic leader responsible for cultivating a thriving ecosystem for entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers within our Lagos hub.This role requires a deep understanding of the startup landscape, exceptional community-building skills, and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders across the continent. As Senior Community Manager, you will work closely with counterparts in Kenya, Rwanda, Togo, and Namibia to share best practices, align on pan-African initiatives, and ensure a cohesive CcHUB community experience across Africa.Cultivating a Pan-African CommunityFoster a Connected Continent: Actively participate in pan-African community management discussions and strategy sessions, collaborating with Community Managers across CcHUB locations to share best practices, align on initiatives, and ensure a unified community experience.Champion a Shared Vision: Contribute to the development and execution of pan-African community programmes that leverage the collective strength and resources of the CcHUB network.Share Knowledge & Resources: Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between the Lagos community and other hubs, fostering cross-border connections that support the broader African tech ecosystem.Team ManagementLead with Impact: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Lagos community team, which includes an Assistant Community Manager, two Community Associates, and an intern.Empower & Develop: Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and growth. Conduct regular team meetings, delegate responsibilities effectively, and support professional development through mentorship.Drive Performance: Set clear performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and deliver constructive feedback to maintain a high-performing team.Coworking Space and Community ManagementCurate an Inspiring Environment: Oversee daily operations of the Lagos coworking space, ensuring it remains a dynamic and welcoming environment for entrepreneurs and innovators.Optimise for Collaboration & Innovation: Work with the administrative team to maintain a functional, well-designed space that fosters creativity and adapts to the needs of the community.Champion Member Experience: Be a visible and accessible presence, addressing enquiries, concerns, and feedback proactively. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance member experience and build a strong sense of belonging.Events Management & Strategic EngagementCurate a Dynamic Event Calendar: Design and deliver a strategic programme of events, workshops, masterclasses, and networking sessions that promote innovation and business growth within Nigeria and beyond.Ensure Seamless Execution & Impact: Manage all aspects of event delivery including budgeting, logistics, marketing, vendor coordination, and post-event analysis to ensure meaningful outcomes.Extend Reach Through Digital: Leverage digital tools and innovative formats to broaden the impact of events and connect the Lagos community with wider audiences across the continent.Community Programme Development & GrowthDesign for Impact: Develop and implement creative strategies to grow the Lagos community, attract new members, and position CcHUB as the premier hub for innovation in Lagos.Understand Community Needs: Engage closely with practices, partners, and stakeholders to understand community priorities and tailor initiatives that support business growth and success.Foster a Sense of Belonging: Create initiatives that promote collaboration, knowledge exchange, and a supportive environment for members.Champion the CcHUB Brand: Act as a brand ambassador, representing CcHUB Lagos within the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders.Administration & OperationsEnsure Operational Excellence: Manage administrative functions related to the coworking space, including membership records, billing, and vendor coordination.Facilitate Seamless Communication: Serve as the primary contact for coworking and community-related matters, ensuring effective communication across internal teams and with external partners.Maintain the Space: Collaborate with facilities and admin teams to ensure the coworking space is well-maintained and that member needs are consistently met.QualificationsA bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, marketing, communications, or other related fields is required.Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a field related to community, communications, or within the startup ecosystem.Has led a teamThe individual possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.I possess strong organisational and multitasking skills.Familiarity with coworking management software (e.g., Office RnD, Luma) would be an added advantageI am comfortable speaking in public and engaging with diverse stakeholders.Experience working within the startup ecosystem and building communities.
