We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Supply Chain Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT) 

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The core functions of Supply Chain Management (SCM) is to ensure the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective flow of goods, information, and finances from the initial supplier to the end consumer.
  • The Department Senior Officer to SCM Department will act as 2IC of HOD and take charge in the absence of HOD.
  • Shall support the HOD managing the Procurement and MRP Units.
  • Shall support the HOD to ensure maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Shall support the HOD in administering after-sales service and returns management.
  • Shall provide administrative support to the department in Document management and processes, and training on departmental processes.
  • The Department Senior Officer must maintain the highest level of integrity, demonstrate the I-REAP core values and be a contributor to the desired cultures, leading by example in all areas, and ensuring that line and staff are coordinated and kept abreast of corporate strategy and direction at all time.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Operational and administrative support:

  • Effective administrative services
  • Custodian of internal systems, SOPs, process documents
  • Manage document processing, registration, tracking and archival
  • Manage departmental assets, work tools, facilities, etc.

Departmental Strategic Execution and Coordination:

  • Ensure efficient support of execution of key initiatives of the HOD.
  • Coordinate departmental collaboration on all admin matters within EZM and with corresponding departments in Client Companies.
  • Ensure that business processes within the department are up to date.

Performance and Staff Management:

  • Supervise the tasks assigned to the different HOUs and departmental team for effective closure.
  • Support the HOD in appraising staff of the department, provide mentorship/guidance to new staff and drive continuous improvement in staff performance.
  • Shall be responsible staff training and retraining.
  • Facilitate relevant training on departmental processes, compliance requirements, and documentation and best practices for operation.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Collate, compile and provide operational report to the HOD for review and submission to the EC.
  • Maintain all compliance lists and requirements, ensuring effective monitoring and timely escalation to achieve 100% compliance.

Business Continuity and Succession Planning:

  • Act as 2IC to HOD and take charge in the absence of the HOD.
  • Support in managing any unit or departmental function of any exited staff, by ensuring that each position has a replacement at any given time from internal resource pending replacement.
  • Ensure that proper handover is done and all company tools are retrieved
  • Ensure that staff functions are rotational so that anyone at any given time can cover all roles.
  • Collaborate with HOD to organise departmental level on boarding of new hires, including provision of all tools, systems and work requirements.

Governance & Baseline Competencies:

  • Reporting: The department senior officer shall report directly to the HOD of the department & collaborate with ECSEC Admin with ECSEC Admin on all admin related matters.
  • Admin Structure: The department senior officer shall be considered as Intermediate Senior Management.
  • Baseline Competencies: Shall have understanding of document management principles, understanding of project management, ability to prepare and present management reports and understanding of departmental operations.

Qualifications

Minimum Educational Qualification:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Procurement, Public Administration, or a related discipline is required.
  • Possession of professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply), CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), or PMP (Project Management Professional) is highly desirable.
  • A postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA, MSc in Supply Chain or Logistics, or Public Administration) is considered an added advantage, especially for roles requiring cross-functional coordination or strategic oversight.

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience in an administrative, procurement, logistics, or supply chain coordination role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or department-level administrative capacity.
  • Experience working in a supply chain unit, procurement office, warehouse operations, or logistics department within a corporate or structured organizational setting is essential.

Technical and Administrative Skills:

  • Procurement and inventory document handling, including purchase orders, delivery notes, vendor contracts, GRNs (Goods Received Notes), and requisitions.
  • Office administration and departmental logistics coordination, including managing schedules, files, correspondence, and supplies for smooth SCM operations.
  • Supply file and transaction record organization, including tracking supplier performance, shipments, and procurement documentation.
  • Familiarity with supply chain terms and procedures, including sourcing, stock control, vendor onboarding, lead times, and compliance protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook) for data tracking, reporting, and correspondence.
  • Experience with supply chain and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle SCM, Zoho Inventory, TradeGecko, or in-house ERP systems) is highly desirable.
  • Professional communication and business writing skills, with the ability to draft memos, internal requisitions, vendor queries, and supply chain reports.
  • Calendar and deadline management, such as managing order timelines, delivery schedules, and procurement planning milestones.
  • Upholding confidentiality and discretion, especially with supplier data, price negotiations, and contract terms.

Personal Attributes and Leadership Competencies:

  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity, professional ethics, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in vendor and internal dealings.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of juggling multiple procurement cycles, delivery timelines, and administrative tasks.
  • Analytical and proactive in identifying delays, risks, or bottlenecks in the supply chain and applying sound judgment to resolve them.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, enabling effective coordination across vendors, stores, and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to lead by example, support logistics teams, and manage relationships vertically and laterally within and outside the department.

Organisational Fit and Role Readiness:

  • Capacity to serve as Second-in-Command (2IC) to the Head of Supply Chain and oversee departmental workflows, procurement schedules, and operational tasks in their absence.
  • Ability to step into any supply chain support function (e.g., vendor follow-up, inventory reconciliation, order processing, shipment coordination) to ensure smooth performance during staffing gaps.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to anticipate operational needs, resolve administrative bottlenecks, and work independently or collaboratively across procurement, logistics, and warehouse functions.
  • Demonstrates strong alignment with the organization’s I-REAP core values, with a clear commitment to efficiency, accountability, and continuous learning in support of a performance-driven and improvement-oriented supply chain culture.
  • Readiness to support the onboarding of new SCM staff, ensure access to logistics systems, procurement tools, and department SOPs, and coordinate internal administrative training.
  • Competence in maintaining procurement calendars, vendor compliance checklists, delivery trackers, and contract renewal logs, ensuring adherence to policies and proactive risk management.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Client Companies, vendors, warehouse teams, auditors, finance, and internal units on procurement documentation, delivery updates, audits, and compliance matters.

Salary

N600,000 – N700,000 Monthly.
