Primarily set up, as a consulting Civil Engineering firm, the company served both the private and public sectors for a decade, before entering into the Oil and Gas industry in the turn of the decade (1990).Amercron’s services encompass consultancy – various Engineering and project design services through to supply and Installation with ongoing technical support, manpower supply, construction/Project Management and multidisplinary design, and procurement services. these are catergorized into four groups: Engineering and Construction/Fabrication, Project Management, Procurement Services and Human Resource Management.We are recruiting to fill the position below:Job Position: Senior Telecoms EngineerJob Locations: Port Harcourt – Rivers and LagosKey Responsibilities

• Design, and deploy telecommunications systems including VoIP, PBX, fiber optics, microwave, PAGA, UHF Radios, Local Area Networks and wireless networks.
• Lead the planning and execution of telecom infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues before handover to operations.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new telecom technologies and solutions.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate telecom systems with IT and business applications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of telecom protocols (e.g., SIP, SS7, MPLS), network design, and routing/switching technologies.
• Hands-on experience with telecom hardware and software from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Aviat, Alcatel, HP-Aruba, Motorola, Avaya).
• Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
