Job description: Job Description:Job Summary:The Talent Manager is responsible for the attraction, selection, and retention of employees. The role encompasses workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, succession and retention. This role is critical in building a high-performance workforce and fostering a culture of continuous growth and innovation.Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying an organization’s needs and working to create and implement an efficient talent acquisition strategy to improve recruitment and business performance.
  • Identify and recruit promising talent through scouting, referrals and interviews.
  • Develop and maintain career progression frameworks and succession plans to prepare employees for future roles.
  • Carry out succession plans by working with business leaders to identify and groom individuals for important positions.
  • Implement Talent Management initiatives that balance and meet the needs of the people as well as the needs of the organization.
  • Anticipating the organizations Talent Management future and working with senior executives to advise on recruiting tactics that will help to sustain the company’s success
  • Developing and implementing strategies to attract diverse candidates to all areas of the business
  • Coach line managers and supervisors to give career development advice and to groom workforce.
  • Plan communications activities to build awareness of the career structure and options available in the organization.
  • Create development plans tailored to individual goals and industry demands.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of talent development initiatives through metrics and feedback.
  • Strategize long-term career paths, helping talent navigate opportunities and challenges.
  • Ability to be strategic and tactical when making decisions

Requirements:Skills And Competencies:

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of talent lifecycle management and HR analytics.
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the organization.
  • High emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR compliance standards.
  • Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or HR certifications (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years in a talent management or HR leadership role.
