As they continue to expand in this technical space, they are seeking a Technical Sales Manager to lead commercial and technical efforts for their marine coatings division.This is a high-impact, client-facing role ideal for professionals with deep knowledge of coatings, hands-on technical service, and a track record in B2B sales. Key Responsibilities
- Lead sales and business development for marine paint products across shipyards, shipowners, and oil & gas clients.
- Provide expert advice on product selection, surface preparation, application techniques, and international coating standards.
- Conduct technical demonstrations, workshops, and training in collaboration with the Technical Team.
- Monitor competitor activity, market dynamics, and customer needs to shape commercial strategy.
- Coordinate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and project fulfilment.
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities and track progress on existing ones.
- Resolve customer issues by working closely with internal technical teams.
- Build and manage strong relationships with key accounts, including major clients and regional dealers.
- Develop and monitor budgets, sales forecasts, and inventory plans.
- Mentor junior sales staff and contribute to building a high-performing team culture.
- Travel extensively across Nigeria and West Africa to support business needs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- B.E./B.Tech in Paint Technology, Marine Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (PG qualification preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marine or industrial coatings, with sales and technical exposure.
- Certification such as AMPP/NACE Level 1 or 2 is preferred.
- Previous experience leading small teams (12 people) or managing project pipelines is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of international marine coating standards (IMO, ISO) and ship maintenance practices.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of French is a plus.
- Comfortable with extensive travel and flexible geographic posting across West Africa.
