Job Title: Technical Trainer – Solar Energy

Locations: Lagos and Oyo

Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Technical Trainer – Solar Energy to design and deliver training programs for solar installers.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with solar installations, especially solar inverters and strong presentation, facilitation, and documentation skills.
  • This role involves developing training materials, conducting practical and classroom-based sessions, and ensuring installers are equipped with the right technical knowledge to execute installations safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and deliver technical training programs on solar systems, including solar inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and other components.
  • Train installers on best practices for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of solar systems.
  • Collaborate with the technical and operations teams to understand skill gaps and address training needs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain documentation of training attendance, progress reports, and certification records.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and mentorship to installers where required.
  • Create high-quality training materials such as PowerPoints, manuals, videos, and job aids.
  • Conduct both classroom and field training sessions to ensure practical, hands-on learning.
  • Continuously update training content based on new technologies, products, and industry standards.
  • Evaluate learners’ performance through assessments, practical demonstrations, and feedback sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in creating and delivering presentations using PowerPoint and other training tools.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse learner groups.
  • Experience creating training manuals or technical documentation is an added advantage.
  • 3–5 years’ hands-on experience in solar installation, electrical systems, or inverter configuration.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV systems, design, installation processes, and troubleshooting.
