Job Title: Volunteer
Location: Makurdi, Benue
Position Type: Volunteer (Part-time/Full-time options available)
Duration: 3–6 months (with possibility of extension based on performance and availability)
Job Description
- We are seeking dedicated and passionate volunteers to support our operations at the GISD Makurdi Office.
- Volunteers will contribute to program implementation, office administration, partnership engagement, and community outreach.
- This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the development sector while making a real difference in local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning, coordination, and implementation of GISD programs and events.
- Assist in documentation, report writing, and record-keeping.
- Provide administrative assistance and contribute to daily office operations.
- Contribute ideas for project development and resource mobilization.
- Engage with community stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries during field activities.
- Support communication efforts including social media management and advocacy campaigns.
Requirements
- Minimum of OND/NCE; Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Public Health, or related fields is an advantage.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet use).
- Ability to commit at least 20 hours per week.
- Prior volunteer or NGO experience is an asset but not mandatory.
- Strong interest in community development, youth empowerment, climate change, or human rights.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
