Job description: Job Description:Our client is a metal recycling and commodity trading company in Nigeria.Job SummaryOur firm is a lead-acid battery recycling company. We take used batteries, process them, and refine them into 99.985% Lead Ingots. The Business Development Officer will be responsible for driving purchase of scrap batteries and oversee running of collation centers in Ogere, and Ibadan.Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for generating new leads for scrap purchase.
- Responsible for getting market-friendly prices for the purchase of lead acid batteries.
- Maintain records and documentation: Keep accurate records of all activities, including quantities, quality assessment, and aggregators/supplier’s information.
- Coordinate handling/storage outside BPL: Oversee the collection storage and other handling steps according to the environmental regulations and BPL guidelines.
- Responsible for good customer service relationship with prospective and existing vendors-Which includes complaints and reservations).
- Coordinate logistics and transportation: Arrange efficient and cost-effective transportation of aggregated batteries from aggregators to the factory.
- Monitor Market trends and competitor’s activity: Stay updated on market dynamics and advise BD supervisor accordingly.
- Perform all other functions as assigned on coordination of new business projects.
Requirements
- B.Sc
- Strong team player.
- Ability to manage time and to prioritize work effectively.
- Proven negotiating skills.
- Tenacious when it comes to problem solving/acquiring key information.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills – Initiate and develop practices, analyze, and use judgment to identify the best solution.
- Strong influencing skills.
- Prepared to work extended hours if required and to travel also.
- 1 – 2 years working experience in Sales and Business Development.
