Job description: About the ClientOur client is a global industrial group specializing in services for the oil and gas sector, is hiring for its Nigerian subsidiary to support a major gas extraction plant construction project.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced professional to oversee contractual and subcontractual activities, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and strategic contract execution throughout the project lifecycle. Reports to Project Manager/Commercial Director.Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the prime contract with the client, ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize subcontracts, purchase orders, and service agreements.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of contract and subcontract terms across all project departments.
  • Lead pre-award activities, including tender preparation, bid evaluations, and contract award recommendations.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure alignment with contractual requirements, project specifications, and schedules.
  • Resolve contractual and commercial disputes in collaboration with legal and project teams.
  • Provide expert advice on claims management, variations, extensions of time, and back charges.
  • Maintain and update contract registers, logs of claims and variations, and payment schedules.
  • Liaise with procurement, planning, construction, and finance teams to ensure smooth contract execution.
  • Ensure all contracts adhere to Ponticelli’s internal governance, compliance policies, and Nigerian legal requirements.
  • Prepare regular reports on contract status, risk exposure, and subcontractor performance for senior management

Skills & Qualifications✅Bachelor’s degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Business Administration.✅Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract and subcontract management within the oil & gas or heavy construction industry.✅At least 5 years of experience in similar roles on major onshore EPC or construction projects.✅Strong knowledge of international and local contract laws, including FIDIC and LOGIC standards.✅Experience in the Nigerian oil & gas sector or other West African jurisdictions preferred.✅Excellent negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution skills.✅High proficiency in contract management systems, MS Office Suite, and ERP tools (SAP, Oracle).✅Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.✅Preferred Certifications & Requirements: Certification in Contract Management (e.g., IACCM, RICS, or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with Nigerian Content Development (NCDMB) regulations.Conditions & BenefitsLocation: Nigeria
