Job Title: Cost Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Role Overview

  • Hexagon Engineering Ltd is seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to manage and control project costs, provide accurate cost forecasts, and support financial decision-making.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of project costing processes, and experience in the engineering or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and maintain project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Monitor project costs and expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals by providing detailed cost input.
  • Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all cost-related data.
  • Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analyses.
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure cost control.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage risk elements related to project costs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.
  • Proficiency in cost management software and Excel.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience (usually 3+ years) in cost engineering, cost control, or quantity surveying, preferably in engineering or construction sectors.
  • Strong understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management.
