Job Title: Legal Manager

Job Description
- We are seeking a smart, detail-oriented Legal Counsel to join our team.
- You will support day-to-day legal operations across our SCALE and Fulfillment business units, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, managing contracts, and providing legal support across operational functions.
- This is a mid-level role ideal for someone with both law firm and in-house experience, particularly in fast-paced, high-growth sectors such as logistics, e-commerce, or technology.
Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Support:
- Provide sound legal advice on company operations, employee matters, commercial decisions, and new business initiatives.
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for business implications, especially relating to value-added services and logistics operations.
Dispute & Risk Management:
- Assist in managing legal disputes, investigations, or incidents across SCALE and Fulfillment units.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary and support case preparation.
- Identify legal risks and recommend mitigation steps for operational and transactional matters.
Corporate Support:
- Maintain and organize legal documentation and filings.
- Support with board documentation, meeting resolutions, and regulatory filings (e.g., CAC, NAFDAC, etc.).
- Contribute to the development of internal policies and legal awareness across teams.
Contract & Documentation Review
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements including service-level agreements (SLAs), vendor/supplier contracts, NDAs, employment contracts, and partnership agreements.
- Ensure contract templates are current and compliant with legal standards.
Compliance & Regulatory Support:
- Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory changes that affect business activities.
- Support internal teams with compliance requirements (e.g., data protection, tax, licenses).
- Assist in preparing documentation for compliance audits and regulatory submissions.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and a valid B.L (Nigerian Law School qualification).
- 4–7 years of post-call experience, ideally combining both law firm and in-house legal work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
- Proficiency in legal research, Microsoft Office, and document management tools.
- High ethical standards and a proactive, business-friendly mindset.
- Experience in corporate commercial law, contract drafting, and regulatory advisory.
- Familiarity with logistics, mobility, supply chain, or tech-enabled services is an added advantage.
